What are the SNP’s views on arms exports?
The SNP are clear that no arms licence exports should ever be granted to states’ in breach of international law. An independent nation Scotland would be proactive in upholding the standards of accountability for violations of human rights and international law.
What is the SNP position on nuclear weapons?
The SNP believes in creating a strong defence for Scotland which is centred on conventional defence forces. The SNP feels strongly that Westminster’s mishandling of its defence budget does not make Scotland safer.
Why does the SNP support NATO?
The SNP is committed to an independent Scotland becoming a full member of NATO. The SNP believe that an independent Scotland will have a crucial role as a reliable and dedicated international partner.
What is the SNP’s position on reversing Brexit?
Scotland is paying a high price for a failing Brexit that it didn’t vote for. Twelve of the EU’s 27 member states have populations similar to, or less than, Scotland’s. They are all successful, independent nations. Why not Scotland?
