Part-Time Caseworker | Office of Lara Bird MP (Arbroath and Broughty Ferry)
The Office of Lara Bird MP, Member of Parliament for Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Part-Time Caseworker to join the constituency team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the local community, helping constituents resolve a wide range of issues and ensuring they receive a high-quality, responsive service.
Position Details
Job Title: Caseworker
Contract: Part-Time
Salary: £26,039 – £40,533 per annum (pro rata, dependent on experience)
Location: Arbroath and Broughty Ferry Constituency Office
Salary Band: Outside London
The Role
The successful candidate will provide frontline support to constituents, managing casework enquiries and working closely with the MP and constituency team to deliver effective solutions and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with constituency surgeries and other meetings, including appropriate follow-up actions.
- Attend constituency meetings as required.
- Handle a large volume of constituent enquiries received by telephone, email, social media and in person.
- Assist with more complex casework and maintain ongoing communication with constituents where necessary.
- Draft correspondence and responses for constituents.
- Gather relevant information to assist in resolving cases.
- Log and manage casework, monitor progress and ensure all necessary actions are completed.
- Ensure all records are maintained accurately and confidentially in line with data protection legislation.
- Handle sensitive information appropriately and in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
- Ensure all cases are dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in line with the MP’s priorities and procedures.

- Have experience of handling complex enquiries and managing confidential information.
- Be committed to delivering a high standard of service to constituents.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information
The role may occasionally require travel and some work outside normal office hours to support constituency events, meetings and surgeries.
