We’re looking for a motivated, organised and people-focused Caseworker to join the team supporting Jim Fairlie MSP at our constituency office in Perth.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of public life, helping constituents navigate challenges, engaging with local stakeholders, and supporting the day-to-day work of an MSP.

Location: Perth

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Salary: £29,335 – £36,012 per annum depending on experience

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Supporting constituents through email, letters, phone calls and face-to-face meetings
  • Investigating and progressing both routine and complex casework
  • Drafting correspondence, reports and other documents
  • Managing and prioritising busy inboxes
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant records
  • Helping manage diaries, meetings and appointments
  • Supporting visits, events and community engagement activities
  • Assisting with newsletters, annual reports and other publications
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure constituents receive the best possible service

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re interested in hearing from people who have experience working with the public and who genuinely care about helping others.

You might already have casework experience, but we’re also keen to hear from candidates who have gained relevant skills through work, volunteering, public service or community involvement.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with the public
  • Experience in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical ability and attention to detail
  • An understanding of Scottish politics and the Scottish Parliament
  • The ability to work independently while also being a supportive team player
