The Office of Lara Bird MP, Member of Parliament for Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, is seeking a motivated and dedicated Full-Time Caseworker to join the constituency team.

Location: Arbroath and Broughty Ferry Constituency Office
Salary: £26,039 – £40,533 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time
Location Band: Outside London
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference to constituents by providing advice, support and assistance on a wide range of issues. The successful candidate will work closely with the MP and constituency team to ensure residents receive a professional, responsive and empathetic service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with constituency surgeries and other meetings, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
- Attend constituency meetings as required.
- Manage a high volume of constituent enquiries received by telephone, email, social media and face-to-face.
- Support more complex casework and maintain ongoing communication with constituents where necessary.
- Draft correspondence and responses on behalf of the MP.
- Gather relevant information to help resolve constituent cases effectively.
- Log, monitor and progress casework, ensuring actions are completed promptly.
- Manage and respond to social media enquiries, escalating where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and handle sensitive information in compliance with data protection legislation.
- Ensure all cases are dealt with professionally, sensitively, confidentially and accurately in line with the MP’s policies and priorities.
- Respond to constituent campaign requests and gather relevant information as required.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be highly organised and able to manage a varied workload.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and empathy when dealing with constituents.
- Have the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Be committed to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
- Possess strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
- Be confident using digital systems and social media platforms.
Additional Information
The role may require occasional travel and some work outside normal office hours to support constituency events, meetings and surgeries.
