The pundits are writing off our chances in this by-election, but they underestimate the people power and determination of the SNP.

Too many families in this constituency, and right across Scotland, are being hammered by the Westminster-made cost of living crisis. Whilst, instead of providing opposition, Labour continues to support many of the most damaging Tory policies.

This summer has already seen Labour ditch its opposition to the two child cap and the Tories’ heinous bedroom tax, which is thought to have impacted nearly 1,600 households in the constituency.

Incredibly, the Labour Party’s candidate previously backed remaining in Europe, resigning from Labour in 2019 over its position. He then u-turned earlier this month to support Keir Starmer’s Brexit policy, only to reverse it again a few days later.

The people of Rutherglen and Hamilton West deserve an SNP MP who will do everything they can to help them through these tough times. 

Every vote for the SNP will send a message that only the powers of independence will deliver the change Scotland needs.
