Good news you might have missed

Here’s just some of the good news from this week – in case you missed it.

 

Unemployment in Scotland is at a record low, and the lowest in the UK.

Youth unemployment in Scotland is the 3rd lowest in the EU, and female unemployment is lower than the UK too.

A new scheme was launched to give free sanitary products to low income women and girls.

A&E performance in Scotland has been the best in the UK for the last 26 months.

845 companies in Scotland are now Living Wage accredited, paying employees at least £8.45 an hour.

More international visitors are coming to Scotland, and spending more while they’re here.

The number of international visits to Scotland last year increased to over 2.7 million.

And, work has started to upgrade a key route in the southwest of Scotland.

£31.2m is being invested to upgrade the A737 and build a new bypass.
