5 ways you can help the SNP win the council elections

On 5 May, voters across Scotland will elect their local councillors.

The choice is clear – SNP-led councils investing in communities and our public services, or Tories imposing cuts at any cost, often propped up by Labour.

Here are 5 ways you can help us win in these crucial elections.

1. Remind 5 friends and family to vote

Every single vote will count, and it’s absolutely vital that you turn up to vote in this crucial election.

SNP councillors and councils stand up for your community, and work tirelessly to deliver a better future – delivering transformative policies like the National Care Service, universal free school meals and more social housing.

Turnout will be absolutely key to electing a strong SNP team, so send 5 friends or family members a message to remind them to vote.

2. Stay up to date with the latest news

The SNP website helps to equip you with the tools needed to stay up to date and have informed conversations with voters.

The News page features a wide range of useful explainers, analysis pieces, recent videos, and more.

You can also read our article setting out the SNP’s 100 top achievements in government, and share it with your friends and followers.

3. Get involved with digital campaigning

Spreading the SNP’s positive message online is a small way to make a big impact, from the comfort of your home or on the go from your smartphone.

Find your local election candidates on social media, follow them and share their posts – and don’t forget to follow the SNP on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

4. Volunteer with your local team

Our campaigns are people-powered, and every activist can play a vital role in delivering SNP wins in councils across Scotland.

There are many ways you can get involved – from delivering leaflets, to canvassing or helping with street stalls.

If you’re an SNP member, go to MySNP to find your branch contact details and see how you can help out, and check out SNP College to find useful training.

5. Be visible

If you’re out campaigning with your local candidates or fellow activists, take some pictures and spread our positive message.

Share the pictures on social media using the #activeSNP and #VoteSNP hashtags – and don’t forget to set up a Twibbon.

You can also show your support by putting up a poster in your window, wearing an SNP badge, or displaying a sticker on your car bumper.

Head to the SNP Store to find these items, and much more.
