Kevin Stewart

Aberdeen Central

Kevin Stewart is the MSP for Aberdeen Central and Minister for Transport. Kevin is a born and bred Aberdonian, has a keen interest in the history of Aberdeen, and served as a local councillor in the city for thirteen years.

Whilst serving as a councillor, Kevin was the Depute Leader of Aberdeen City Council, chaired the Finance and Resources Committee and NESTRANS, the Regional Transport Partnership. His proudest achievement during that time was serving as the chair of the 3Rs Board, which delivered ten new schools for the city.

Kevin was first elected as MSP for Aberdeen Central in 2011, and became a government minister in 2016. Kevin’s roles within government previously included housing, local government, planning, building standards, homelessness, fuel poverty, mental wellbeing, social care and the national care service.
