Through the SNP 2026‑27 Budget, we have shown our commitment to encouraging sport amongst Scotland’s young people, including a universal learn‑to‑swim offer is being made for every single primary school child in Scotland.

We believe there should be no barriers to participating in sport and physical activity, and our approach focuses on addressing inequalities in opportunities to be active. Sport is for everyone, and all people should all feel.

Gender equality is at the heart of the SNP’s vision for a fairer Scotland – a Scotland where women and girls have and are empowered to exercise equal rights and opportunities, and have equitable access to sport.
