How is the SNP encouraging female participation in sport?

The SNP want a Scotland where everyone can benefit from sport and physical activity.

Gender equality is at the heart of the SNP’s vision for a fairer Scotland – a Scotland where women and girls have and are empowered to exercise equal rights and opportunities,

Where they have equitable access to economic resources and decision making, and live their lives free from all forms of violence, abuse and harassment.

An ongoing priority for the SNP is to support participation in sport across all groups and tackle inequalities in participation and improve long term health outcomes and life opportunities.

We have committed to double investment in sport and active living to £100 million a year by the end of the Parliament to ensure more people can enjoy active lives to improve physical, mental and social health.
