Only the SNP offers a better future. But we need to vote for it.

Since coming to office in 2007, the SNP has changed Scotland beyond all recognition. Families in Scotland enjoy opportunities and benefits that they would be denied if they lived in England. The SNP has made a concerted effort to undo the legacy of Thatcherism that Westminster parties continue to uphold.

We’ve remade Scotland in the mould of a modern, European social democracy. Our politics is fairer, kinder and safer than the circus in Westminster that most Scots have watched with horror.

Since the heady days of 2007, the UK has burned through seven prime ministers – soon to be eight. Labour and the Tories may be very different in some ways, but in others they are identical, the old guard of the same failing status quo.

They fumbled the financial crash, unleashed crippling austerity, dragged us out of the EU with a reckless Brexit and used the Covid-19 pandemic as a chance to reward their friends.

They gave us Corbyn, Johnson and Truss.

They saddled families across these islands with soaring inflation thanks to the scandalous mini-budget and shredded the UK’s reputation on the world stage.

They’ve slashed at public services, ravaged our welfare state and sidelined Scottish democracy.

According to the New York Times, food bank use has increased by more than 5,000%.

And yet, while Westminster’s psychodrama has spiralled, Scotland has shown there is another way.

Under the SNP, our health service has seen fundamental reform. We have the most GPs per head of the population, the best performing A&Es in the UK, and the only NHS workforce to avoid pay related industrial action. We spend the most per person on frontline health and have allocated £300 million to reduce waiting lists. We’ve abolished charges for prescriptions, dental checkups and hospital car parking.

And on education, we have the highest per person investment in education, the highest number of teachers and set the highest starting salaries in the entire UK. The SNP has built or upgraded more than 1,000 schools and has removed music or core curriculum fees. Higher passes are at a record high and we have a record high number of school leavers in work, training or further study. We’ve expanded free school meals, expanded free childcare and seen the highest number of students at university – where they enjoy free tuition.

Average house prices are lower. We’ve introduced rent controls to protect tenants. Scottish families don’t pay water charges. Our railway is nationalised and peak time rail fares have been abolished.

The SNP is committed to growing our economy so the success Scotland achieves can be felt by everyone in society. We believe in social mobility – providing every person with a higher standard of living. The Thatcherite consensus has failed. The UK is poorer and more unequal because of it. 1 in 6 people live in poverty and businesses are reluctant to invest.

But in Scotland our economy is defying the trend – and game-changing innovations like the Scottish Child Payment have lifted 100,000 children out of poverty.

This is the change we’ve made together.

Labour have promised to cut spending – and on top of that there is an £18 billion black hole in their plans that Sir Keir Starmer will still not be honest about.

They don’t have the radical ideas we need to change the UK for the better. British democracy is broken and Labour don’t have the plans to fix it.

The election has been decided. Labour will win, but Scotland can still choose its own path – as we’ve always done.

We can press ahead with the progress we’ve made. A vote for the SNP is a vote for the change Scotland needs.

A better future is possible with the SNP. Tomorrow is our chance to vote for it.
