How has the SNP brought down NHS waiting times?

Following record investment in frontline services by the SNP, Scotland’s NHS is performing more procedures with GP numbers rising and waiting times coming down.

We promised to bring down waiting lists, and that’s exactly what this SNP government has doing under John Swinney’s leadership.

Our incredible NHS is delivering thousands more appointments, operations and procedures this year.

There is still much work to be done but we are seeing momentum which will ensure people receive the treatment they need as soon as possible.

The post-pandemic NHS is turning a corner in our efforts to reduce the backlog caused by the pandemic and our plan is working – long waits are reducing and we are treating patients more quickly.

There are downward trends across nearly all waiting list indicators and this is testament to the tireless work of our NHS staff.
