How has the SNP brought down NHS waiting times?

Following record investment in frontline services by the SNP Scotland’s NHS is performing more procedures, GP numbers are rising and waiting times are coming down.

We promised to bring down waiting lists, and that’s exactly what this SNP Government is doing under John Swinney’s leadership.

Our incredible NHS is delivering thousands more appointments, operations and procedures this year.

There is still much work to be done but we are seeing momentum which will ensure people receive the treatment they need as soon as possible.

We are turning a corner in our efforts to reduce the backlog caused by the pandemic and our plan is working – long waits are reducing and we are treating patients more quickly.

We are seeing downward trends across nearly all waiting list indicators and this is testament to the tireless work of our NHS staff.
