Caseworker for Ivan McKee MSP
Requirements:
- Act as a first point of contact for constituents, responding to enquiries received by email, telephone, letter and in person.
- Manage and track casework, maintaining accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and parliamentary standards.
- Draft correspondence, briefings and responses on a wide range of policy and constituency issues.
- Liaise with government departments, local authorities and other organisations to progress constituent cases.
- Support the MSP in planning and delivering constituency meetings, surgeries and community engagement activities.
- Assist with the day-to-day administration of the office, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Contribute to team discussions and support wider parliamentary and community work as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
- A calm, professional and empathetic manner when dealing with sensitive or complex issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
- A genuine interest in public service and understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word and Excel).
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience of using a case management system.
- Understanding of the work of the Scottish Parliament and the role of an MSP.
