What #ScotBudget means for pensioners

Pensioners

The budget brings good news for Scotland’s pensioners:

  • We are investing an additional £500 million in the NHS, and £250 million of this will be invested in the integration of health and social care. This will mean that fewer people need to go to hospital, and that where hospital is necessary, people will return home more quickly.
  • We are investing £200 million over the next five years to build six new elective treatment centres to carry out procedures like hip, knees and cataracts.
  • Scotland’s pensioners will also continue to benefit from free personal and nursing care.
  • Our manifesto commitments to freeze the council tax, ensure prescriptions and eye checks remain free and providing free concessionary travel for those over 60 remain protected.
