How is the SNP improving alcohol services?

Alcohol harm is a public health priority, and the SNP is continuing to channel our energy towards reducing harm further.

We know we cannot become complacent and must continue to make progress on reducing alcohol-related harm.

We are continuing to work closely with local Alcohol and Drugs Partnerships and other stakeholders to provide targeted, person-centred support, backed by record levels of funding of around £160 million this year.

There is still a lot of work to be done to save and improve lives, and our world leading Minimum Unit Pricing policy is one of the measures we know can make a difference in tackling alcohol-related harm.

The decision to continue with Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) and increase the price in 2024 shows that Scotland continues to be world leading in improving the health of our people.
