Role Purpose:

The Party Fundraiser is responsible for developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies to secure financial resources for the SNP. This role involves cultivating relationships with donors, managing donor events, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Party Fundraiser plays a critical role in supporting the SNP’s strategic goals by generating and managing essential funding streams and assisting with financial and membership-related activities.

Fundraising Strategy Development:

  • Design and implement fundraising campaigns to meet financial targets for SNP initiatives.
  • Track and report on fundraising progress, analysing outcomes to refine strategies and achieve revenue goals.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities align with SNP’s values and comply with relevant legislation.

Donor Engagement and Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and high-net-worth individuals to build lasting support for SNP initiatives.
  • Organize and manage donor recognition programmes and events, such as small gatherings or large-scale fundraising galas.
  • Maintain effective communication with donors, providing updates on SNP’s activities and initiatives.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and manage donor events of varying scales, overseeing logistics to ensure smooth execution.
  • Collaborate with SNP teams to align event themes and messaging with broader party goals.
  • Manage event budgets to maximise ROI while delivering high-quality experiences for attendees.

Financial Management and Compliance:

  • Oversee the production and reconciliation of fundraising appeals, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and political donation laws.
  • Provide financial support to Party Treasurers and maintain accurate records in Party membership systems.

Membership and Election Mailings:

  • Produce and fulfil membership and election mailings, ensuring timely delivery to members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date mailing lists and membership records for efficient communication.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Fundraising and Donor Relations Expertise:

Proven experience in fundraising or donor relations, ideally within the non-profit or political sector.

Event Planning Skills:

Demonstrated ability to organise and execute fundraising events of various scales, with strong attention to detail and logistics.

Financial Acumen:

Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with political donation regulations, with a focus on cost management and ROI.

Strong Organisational Skills:

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and revenue goals are achieved.

Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills:

Skilled in crafting compelling appeals and engaging presentations for diverse audiences.

Relationship-Building Expertise:

Proven ability to build strong connections with donors, stakeholders, and high-net-worth individuals.

Proficiency in Data and Systems Management:

Familiarity with donor management systems and data reconciliation processes.
