Here’s just some of what your SNP Scottish Government has done this week.

Nicola Sturgeon met the new Prime Minister, Theresa May, to discuss Scotland’s place in in Europe. Find out more about Scottish Government action to protect Scotland’s place in Europe here.

 

Nicola also attended the first meeting of the Standing Council on Europe, a group of experts set up to advise the Scottish Government on legal, financial and diplomatic matters.

  

Finance Secretary, Derek Mackay, met with his counterparts from Wales and Northern Ireland to discuss the impact of Brexit on the devolved nations. Read their joint letter to the Chancellor here.

  

Aileen Campbell, Minister for Public Health and Sport, announced that a thousand new paramedics are to be trained in the next five years.

  

Humza Yousaf, the Minister for Transport and the Islands, met with local communities on the islands of Islay, Easdale, Seil and Luing.

  

  

Jamie Hepburn, Minister for Employability and Training, visited Action for Children and RNIB Scotland to explore how we can get more young people and disabled people into work.

  

  

Nicola Sturgeon and Aileen Campbell cheered on Scotland’s two teams at the Homeless World Cup in Glasgow.

  

The Minister for Local Government and Housing, Kevin Stewart, visited Dunfermline to see how social enterprises are helping boost the town centre.

  

Maureen Watt, the UK’s only dedicated Minister for Mental Health, opened a new Psychiatric Care Unit in Fife.

  

  

Michael Matheson, the Justice Secretary, met representatives of the Edinburgh and Lothian Regional Equality Council to discuss the policing priorities review.

  

  

Scotland’s first dedicated Minister for Childcare, Mark McDonald, visited CALA Childcare in Inverness, as well as popping into the local library to practice his Lego skills!
