Biography:
George has been involved with the SNP since his late teens and has been active with the SNP in Paisley since the late 1980's. Before being elected to Renfrewshire council in 2007 George worked in the motor industry as a Corporate Sales Manager.
George is also councillor for Paisley South: Ward 5 in Renfrewshire Council and is Convenor of the council's Appeals Panel and Paisley South Local Area Committee. He lives in the east end of Paisley with his wife Stacey. George is a proud Paisley Buddie who has lived in the town all of his life.
Due to his wife Stacey, suffering MS, they are both members of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Scotland.
George is a passionate supporter of St Mirren FC and follows the Scotland national football team when he can.
He was elected as an MSP on May 6th 2011.
