David Torrance

Kirkcaldy

David was born in 1961 in Kirkcaldy, Fife. He was educated at Balwearie High School, and Adam Smith College, where he gained an HND in Mechanical Engineering.

He worked for British Gas, Alcan Chemicals, Rexroth Bosch before going into politics full time in 2007, working for Chris Harvie MSP.

He joined the SNP in 1981 and was a local councillor with Fife Council from 1995 to 2011.

He has been a Scout Association Leader since 1979 and is currently the Assistant District Commissioner for Kirkcaldy District Scouts. Additionally, he is a longstanding member of the board of the Linton Lane Centre and Kirkcaldy YMCA.

In his spare time, David enjoy snowboarding, playing the guitar, and following Raith Rovers Football Club.
