The SNP are committed to creating a Scotland where education is based on your ability to learn and not your ability to pay.
One of the very first acts of the new SNP Government was to restore Scotland’s historic tradition of free education by scrapping tuition fees. We have also expanded entitlement to Educational Maintenance Allowance to support 57,000 school pupils and college students, making it easier for them continue their education.
The SNP Government has invested over £530m in college estates between 2007-2014. The government is also supporting further investment of over £330m - delivering a new £228m City of Glasgow College, a £52m campus at Inverness College and the £53m Kilmarnock campus at Ayrshire College.
