Sandra has been active locally and nationally since joining the SNP in 1983, being councillor for Foxbar, Renfrewshire, for ten years before being elected as a Glasgow MSP in 1999.
She is Deputy Shadow Minister for Health and Social Justice and has served as a Deputy Whip and is a member of the Party's National Council.
Sandra has been a member of the Parliament;s Public Petitions Committee since 1999. Sandra's interests in politics are achieving social justice and the regeneration of Glasgow.
She is married with three grown up children.
