Gordon MacDonald

Edinburgh Pentlands

Gordon was elected to the Scottish Parliament in 2011 for the Edinburgh Pentlands Constituency.

Prior to being elected he was employed by the local bus company in Edinburgh as an accountant. His career has included employment in local government, the health service, manufacturing and public transport.

Born in Glasgow he was educated at Cumbernauld High School and Glasgow College of Technology; now Glasgow Caledonian University.

Living in the Lothian area with his wife and two sons he has been an active member of the SNP since 1975. He has held many posts in the party including serving on the party’s National Executive as Assistant National Treasurer.
