Lead Constituency Caseworker – Angela Constance MSP

Angela Constance MSP is seeking a Lead Caseworker to assist with the provision of advice, help and support to constituents living in the Almond Valley.

This is a full-time position based in the constituency office in Livingston

Hours: 35 per week, with occasional evening/weekend work required

Salary: Negotiable depending on skills/experience

Main Duties:

  • Manage and progress a case load to short deadlines using a case management system.
  • Support and supervise others and deputise for office manager.
  • Draft correspondence to a high professional standard and liaise with members of the public and a wide range of organisations.
  • Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially and in line with GDPR.
  • Attend surgeries and meetings as appropriate.
  • Provide research as required by MSP.
  • Diary management and planning.
  • Undertake any other general tasks to support an effective parliamentary office.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Previous case work experience and ability to organise time and tasks.
  • Respond to issues quickly producing accurate information/research within tight time scales.
  • Experience of supervising or mentoring others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues, constituents and external agencies.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
