Senior Caseworker/Caseworker for Kirsty Blackman MP 

Kirsty Blackman MP is looking for an experienced Caseworker to join her Aberdeen North team.  

Salary: In line with IPSA pay scales 

Hours: Full-Time (37 hours per week)  

Location: Based in the constituency office in Aberdeen North (this is an office-based role and home working full time will not be considered) 

 

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

Manage large numbers of standard queries and assist on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media, or face-to-face.  

Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken. 

Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation. 

Assist with surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate. 

Liaise with government agencies, voluntary sector organisations, and others to resolve constituency matters. 

Exercise a high level of autonomy in reaching decisions on cases based on the evidence. 

Monitor media coverage, liaise with media, and prepare press releases as required. 

Produce online graphics and video content for social media, as well as publicising surgeries and news alerts. 

Diary management. 

There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal hours and travel for work occasionally. 

 

Essential Skills and Requirements 

Previous experience as a Caseworker or similar role. 

A passion for helping people and solving their problems. 

Excellent organisational skills including being flexible in prioritising and managing workloads during busy times. 

Excellent communications skills, with accurate attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with colleagues. 

 

Desirable Skills and Requirements 

Strong, proactive work ethic. 

Relevant IT skills – including Microsoft Office, Caseworker, social media platforms & digital communications. 

An understanding of data management and retention policies.
