The choice facing voters this May is between SNP-led councils investing in communities and local services, or Tories putting cuts before all else – propped up by the Labour party.
We need to work tirelessly until the election to tell people why a vote for the SNP is a vote to keep Scotland moving forward.
Here are just some ways you can help us win on 4th May.
Our activists win us elections, and we need your help to win the Council Elections. Whether it’s canvassing, helping at street stalls or delivering leaflets, there are plenty of ways to get involved. And volunteering is a great way to develop your skills, meet new people and work as part of a team.
Through our dedicated digital members hub, my.snp.org, you can find contact details for your local branch and volunteer to make calls to target voters. You’ll also find rules and guidance, key statistics and briefings – everything you need to enable you to speak to voters with confidence.
Spread the word
This is something every SNP supporter and member can do. Let your friends, family and colleagues know that every SNP vote will be a vote to protect the vital services we depend on.
And you can write letters to your local newspapers to spread the SNP’s positive case in a polite, correct and constructive manner.
Find or host an event
Within your local branch you can help organise public meetings, coffee mornings, leafleting and canvassing. These type of events are a great way to speak to reach as many people in your community as possible. Don’t forget to list your event here.
The SNP website will help equip you with the tools needed to stay informed and have great conversations with voters. In the Policybase you’ll find the answers to some of the most regularly asked policy questions. Our Updates section keeps you up-to-date with the latest news and interesting articles you can share on social media.
Any amount you can give, large or small, will help us take our positive, progressive message to voters in every part of Scotland. You can donate here at any time, or call our fundraising team on 0131 525 8904 from 9am to 5pm, Monday – Friday.
Communicating the SNP’s positive message through social media is another powerful tool for the campaign. Follow the SNP’s pages and share our news and updates – on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
Take plenty of pictures when you’re out campaigning and post these on social media – a fantastic way to capture the campaign atmosphere. Use the hashtags #Council17 and #VoteSNP, keeping your posts simple and always respectful.
An easy way to show your support is to put up a window poster, wear a badge or display a car sticker. You can buy these items and much more at snpstore.org.
