Councillor Gordon Townson (Airyhall / Broomhill / Garthdee)

 

 

Gordon has lived in Aberdeen for over 30 years and has two teenage children who were born and raised in the city. He is passionate about the city and about making it a better place to live and work.

 

He has strong connections to communities in his ward and throughout the city as a Community Engagement Consultant working with young people to help motivate them and give them a 'Can Do' attitude and empowerment to develop and enhance their career opportunities . He is passionate about youth employability and giving them the best start in life.

 

 

During a 30 year Police career Gordon developed a wide range of experience of the oil industry, community policing and as an education liaison officer . He was also Chairman of Grampian Police Diced Cap Charitable Trust from 2001 - 2009. From 2010 he has run the Jasmine Charity Challenge a private sector funded initiative delivering real business experience to senior enterprise students in Aberdeen City and Shire - bringing schools, charities, businesses and communities together.

 

 

Gordon is currently on Education Culture and Sport / Housing and Environment / Licensing committees in Aberdeen City Council.
