Drew Hendry has represented Aird and Loch Ness ward, covering from Beauly and Kirkhill down to Fort Augustus and back up again on the other side of the Loch to Dores and Farr, since 2007.

Drew became SNP Council Group Leader and Leader of the Opposition on Highland council after the 2011 Elections. With a strong record in getting positive results for people and communities in the Ward, Drew has also worked with the SNP Council Group to fight for many issues on the Council , including successfully campaigning for the retention of 344 Classroom Assistants posts. He has also worked across party boundaries on issues for the benefit of the Highlands, such as bring back the redundant Nigg Yard in to job creating use and the devolution of the Crown Estate which controls nearly all of Highlands seabed and foreshore.

Drew is a former Director with a multinational appliance manufacturer and has long experience in Retail, including online, from the shop floor to senior management. He was also a Board Member of the Cairngorms National Park and is currently a board member of Highland Opportunity Limited, helping small and medium businesses to start and grow.”
