Shona Robison is Minister for Public Health and MSP for Dundee East.

'It’s time for Scotland to embrace independence so that we can provide better opportunities and a secure future for my young daughter and all the rest of Scotland’s children. Scotland has so much potential but still too many of our young people have to leave to find employment opportunities. Independence will mean we can secure their future through the careful management of our great natural resources and the tremendous growth in our economy which will follow independence.

I am acutely aware of the health inequalities in Scotland and the fact that life expectancy in some parts of Glasgow has actually fallen in recent years. Independence will provide us with a tool box that is full, not half empty, to begin to really tackle some of the major health inequality and poverty challenges faced by our nation. It’s time for us to have the powers of any other normal parliament to change Scotland for the better. It’s time for independence.'
