What’s wrong with the way we’re governed just now?

Here are just a few examples of how the UK continues to fail Scotland:

  • Poverty levels in Scotland remain unacceptably high – particularly among children and pensioners
  • Scotland suffers from low economic growth and a declining population
  • Dangerous nuclear weapons are stored in Scotland
  • We were dragged into an illegal war in Iraq, against the wishes of the Scottish people
None of the above is an advert for Westminster rule.

When power is exercised close to the people it always has a better chance of being exercised well. Government by remote control from London is never going to be relevant to Scottish needs, but a Scottish government with full powers would be able to make policies designed to solve distinctive Scottish problems.
