Over £140 every second... that's the extra money Gordon Brown is
scooping in bonus taxes from soaring oil prices and energy bills.

At a time when food and fuel bills are crippling millions of families,
the beleagured PM and his Treasury are benefiting as a result of record
oil prices.

The biggest windfall is the extra billions coming from North Sea oil
taxes paid by companies. Since the Budget on March 12, the Treasury is
benefiting from around £12m more every day.

First Minister Alex Salmond has stepped in, calling for the extra cash
generated by rising oil prices to be used for Scotland's benefit.
