MSP congratulates Edinburgh Airport on record
Colin Keir, MSP for Edinburgh Western, has today congratulated Edinburgh Airport for reducing flight delays to their lowest levels since records began. Through a parliamentary motion Mr Keir highlighted the airport’s improved record following greater co-operation with airlines, partners and handling agents.
86% of flights currently arrive and depart on time within 15 minutes of schedule.
The MSP, whose constituency includes Edinburgh Airport, also congratulated the airport for being recently ranked third most efficient airport in Europe for the less than 15 million annual passengers category by the University of British Colombia.
This follows Edinburgh Airport’s recent Best European Airport Award (5-10m passengers) for the second year running.
Commenting Mr Keir said:
“It’s crucial that passengers and businesses have confidence in the airport’s ability to provide a quality and efficient service.
“Edinburgh Airport just keeps on achieving and its commitment to improving customer service should be recognised.
“I’d like to congratulate the staff at the airport for their continued dedication to improving passenger experience.
“Passengers and businesses expect an efficient airport that responds to passenger needs and I’m delighted that Edinburgh is delivering to that effect.
“Transport efficiency is an important factor for businesses in Edinburgh and the wider Scottish economy which is why it’s pivotal that delays are kept to a minimum.
“This improvement in customer care is the result of greater co-operation between airlines, partners and handling agents and it reinforces the idea that building a successful airport is very much a team effort.”
