Commenting on reports that LibDem Business Secretary Vince Cable has now said he will vote in favour of increasing tuition fees, along with other LibDem Ministers and after saying he would abstain, SNP MP Mike Weir said:
  
"Yet again we see how a LibDem pledge is meaningless. They are now simply a support group for the Tories. They have become the same as the Tories and help them deliver their damaging policies.
   
“The Tories introduced loans, Labour brought in fees and the LibDems are now helping the Tories increase them. Only the SNP is left as the party for students in Scotland and offers them the opportunity be part of something better."
