Only SNP offer positive vision for Glasgow NE
As candidates clashed for the second time ahead of the Glasgow North East by-election, David Kerr emerged the clear winner and the only candidate to offer a positive vision for the area.
Willie Bain confirmed that Labour are taking the area for granted - suggesting he had already won the election despite the writ is yet to be moved.
Commenting, SNP MP for the neighbouring constituency of Glasgow East, John Mason said:
"While the SNP are working hard for every vote Labour are already taking the constituency for granted. "Labour have taken Glasgow for granted for 74 years - Willie Bain has already proven that he would be no different.
"He described Glasgow North East as 'my constituency'. The poll date hasn't even been set!
"And he refused to take responsibility for Labour's legacy of neglect. "In contrast the SNP's David Kerr was clear that we must invest in education and in jobs to ensure Glasgow North East fulfils its enormous potential.
"The only positive for Mr Bain is he agrees with the SNP that we need fiscal stimulus to recover from recession - unfortunately his party is already cutting Scotland's budget and risking jobs.
"David Kerr's priorities are the priorities of local people. The SNP is the only party with a positive vision for Glasgow North East."
